Amnesty International, ‘No Safe Place: Salvadorans, Guatemalans and Hondurans seeking asylum in Mexico based on their sexual orientation and/or gender identity’, 27 November 2017
Abstract:
The countries of the Northern Triangle of Central America (El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras) are among the most violent in the world. There is evidence that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex people (LGBTI) are particularly exposed to violence in the Northern Triangle countries, and that this is related intrinsically to the multiple forms of discrimination that LGBTI people face in the different spheres of their family and working life, as part of society more widely and institutionally, on the basis of their gender identity and/or sexual orientation.
